What started out as a hobby, quickly became an obsession and now, a passion. Rachel took her first class at Clayworks in the Winter of 2020 (pre-pandemic) after holding onto a gift certificate for over a year to take a class. Rachel had been in full mommy mode for the last 9 years and it was time to branch out and do something creative and fun, and to get out of the house. While that first class was cut short (thanks COVID), when the studio reopened, there were more classes to take and more time spent at the studio than anywhere else. Over the last 2 years, she has honed her skills, making fun and functional pieces, from bowls to bud vases and planters, to whiskey cups, and beyond. She started volunteering first as a studio monitor, and now as a studio assistant. "My favorite part about Clayworks is the community of people willing to share their expertise for all things clay. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I have found my passion for Clay, thanks to Clayworks!”
