Wheel Workshops
Ages 18 +
Ever want to learn to throw on the potter's wheel but cannot commit to a class?
In this 2-hour workshop, a Clayworks teaching artist will teach you the basics of wheel throwing. Toward the end of the workshop, you choose your favorite pieces and the glaze color they will be finished in. We will take care of the drying and firing of your pots. Attend alone, or bring a friend, family member, or a date! Your pottery will be food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
Please note: Wheel throwing is a skill that takes time to develop, and is never perfected on the first try. Clayworks cannot guarantee the quality of finished pieces, as results depend on your work during the workshop. Glaze color cannot be guaranteed and refunds/credits will not be issued based on dissatisfaction with finished pieces. That said, we invite you to join us for a fun, hands-on creative experience, imperfections and all!

Handbuilding Workshops
NOVEMBER HANDBUILDING WORKSHOP: TURKEY CANDY DISH
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 11AM-1PM
Bring a festive touch to your Thanksgiving table! Guided by Karla, you’ll use pinch pot and handbuilding techniques to sculpt a charming turkey dish perfect for holding candies, side dishes, or holiday trinkets. Add texture to feather details and personalize your turkey’s expression to create a piece that brings seasonal warmth to your holiday setup year after year.
Ages: This workshop is open to families with children ages 5+. All children must be accompanied by at least one registered adult.
NOVEMBER HANDBUILDING WORKSHOP: HOLIDAY CERAMIC TREES
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 6-8PM
Light up your cozy winter evenings! Guided by Diana, you'll learn how to build and shape ceramic holiday trees using slab and pinch techniques. Cut out glowing star or dot patterns, add textured bows or garlands, and create custom details to let light shine through. Finished pieces make a timeless piece of holiday decor to display in your home or give as a gift.

NOVEMBER HANDBUILDING WORKSHOP: GINGERBREAD HOUSE
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 11AM-1PM
Build a sweet holiday keepsake that lasts forever without melting! Guided by Karla, you’ll use slab construction to construct a rustic gingerbread house, complete with carved windows, chimneys, and roof tiles. Pipe on white clay details to mimic royal icing frosting and snow accents for a delightful centerpiece or candle holder.
Ages: This workshop is open to families with children ages 5+. All children must be accompanied by at least one registered adult.
Raku Workshops
October Raku Workshop: Pumpkin
Friday, October 30, 6:00-8:00pm
Want to have some fiery fun and take home your pottery the same day? Join Clayworks for a hands-on raku firing workshop! Participants will receive a hand-thrown and sculpted pumpkin, perfect for fall and Halloween decor, and built to last a lifetime, to glaze and fire. In this 2-hour workshop, Greg and John will teach participants crackle and luster glaze techniques and will guide them through the outdoor raku firing process.

November RAKU WORKSHOP: COPPER LUSTER
Friday, NOVEMBER 6, 6:00-8:00pm
Want to have some fiery fun and take home your pottery the same day? Join Clayworks for a hands-on raku firing workshop! Every participant receives a hand-thrown bisque ware piece to glaze and fire. In this 2-hour workshop, Greg and John will teach you copper luster glaze techniques and guide you through the outdoor raku firing process.
Ages: 18+
Clayworks reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient enrollment. Fees are 100% refundable if the class is canceled by Clayworks, 100% refundable up to two weeks (14 days) prior to the start of class, minus a $25 processing fee, if the student cancels. No refunds or tuition credits will be given with less than two weeks’ notice.
