Clayworks offers instruction for a variety of ceramics processes at several proficiency levels. Clayworks currently schedules quarterly sessions of instruction each year. Each session features as many as ten courses, typically including beginner, intermediate and advanced wheel throwing, Handbuilding, sculpture and surface design. Its curriculum is designed to attract both the beginner hobbyist and the more serious, accomplished ceramics student. Programs are designed to. facilitate an environment of artistic exchange between students, instructors and working artists. Though Clayworks operates independently of any academic institutions, the coursework parallels local university ceramics programs.
Clayworks instructors must demonstrate an academic and artistic proficiency in order to teach courses, and are assigned to appropriate levels of instruction, commensurate with their own artistic ability and teaching experience.
