The Clayworks Outreach Program is a mobile ceramic art program that brings clay classes to schools and community-based organizations the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. The Outreach Program will transport everything needed for the class including a highly qualified instructor. Finished works of art are fired at Clayworks and returned to the students.

The Program runs six to twelve weeks for 90 minutes each visit with the same group of students. The host location provides a space for the class, a teacher/staff person to participate in the program, and lots of enthusiasm. Working together, the Outreach Program staff and host staff customize classes to best suit the needs of each site. The classes are designed to help nurture the artistic talents of children and to help children become more self-confident and develop better life skills.

Clayworks Outreach Program is dedicated to bringing clay art education to diverse populations in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. The Outreach Program partners with schools and community based organizations, integrating arts into their curriculum and programs. The Program enriches the lives of its participants through exposure to the arts, while also encouraging organizations and schools to develop and expand their arts programs.
